BELGRADE, Serbia (March 11,2008) – The genocidal Serbia has been trying to prevent publication pf a book written by the former International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Chief Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte, for they think the texts could threaten the country’s cooperation with the Tribunal, the Blic Magazine writes.
An anonymous source from the magazine claims that the genocidal Serbia has been in fear for, having obtained the text of the book entitled ‘The Hunt’, subtitled ‘Me and War Crimes’, they think that the publishing of the book could threaten the country’s efforts in cooperation with the ICTY. That is why the country’s Action Team for Cooperation with the ICTY sent a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and ICTY President, demanding postponement of publishing of the book, which is being printed in Italy.
The Blic magazine source states that publishing of the book could make the cooperation more difficult, especially in the sense of the authorities’ attempts to bring the remaining ICTY fugitives to justice.
According to the Blic Magazine, Carla del Ponte reveals the details presented to her by Serbian officials in unofficial meetings, as well as the details related to the actions in the process of search for Serbian war criminals Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic who have been charged by the ICTY with genocide and crimes against humanity committed during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.
The Magazine stated that the book tells details about the support network to the Serbian war criminals and their movements.
The former ICTY Chief Prosecutor, now Swiss Ambassador to Argentina, wrote her book in cooperation with the New York Times’ journalist Chuck Sudetic.
