UNITED STATES STRONGLY SUPPORTS BOSNIA'S EURO-ATLANTIC INTEGRATION

BRUSSELS, Belgium (October 21,2008) - - A member of the Bosnian State Presidency Haris Silajdzic talked to the US Deputy State Secretary Daniel Fried yesterday in Brussels. Fried repeated the strong support of the United States to Bosnia's Euro-Atlantic integration and expressed his interest in reform process in the country.

Silajdzic expressed concern due to attempts to legalize results of genocide and "ethnic cleansing" through ethnic census in Bosnia, and pointed out that EUROSTAT and UNDP principles do not request ethnic category in the census.

Silajdzic also pointed out his attitude that the solving the issue on state property should not go into direction of the legalization of illegal circulation of the state property.

He pointed out that the status of the state property was confirmed by the Agreement on the succession issues of ex Yugoslavia, according to which the right of ownership of the state property belongs to the Bosnian state since the Independence Day, and that transmission of the ownership to the entities has no basis; it was announced yesterday from the Bosnian Presidency member Silajdzic’s cabinet.

Hi Bosnia News blogger,

If you care about victims of Bosnian genocide, then why haven't you donated $40 to Advocacy Project to commission a panel, so victims can be commemorated properly?
