EU PROVIDES 50 MILLION EUROS FROM BOSNIA'S PRE-ACCESSION AID

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (August 4th,2008) - The European Union has decided to provide 50 million Euros from Bosnia's pre-accession aid for Bosnia's institutional reorganization and trans-border cooperation. The grants are the EU’s financial aid to Bosnia for 2007,as a potential candiate for EU membership.

The Bosnian Minister of Finance Dragan Vrankic and the first Counsellor of the European Commission Delegation to Bosnia Marc Vanbrabant signed three financial agreements that will enable Bosnia to use around 50 million Euros of irreversible funds of the EU Pre-Accession Assistance.

"All in all we chose 46 projects that will be financed from funds from pre-accession assistance. Most of the projects pertain to institutional transition, while part of the funds, i.e. around EUR 1.7 million, will be spent on trans-border cooperation with Croatia and Serbia’, said the Bosnian Minister of Finance Dragan Vrankic.
