BOSNIANS MARK THE 16TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SJEVERIN MASSACRE

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (October 22,2008) - Today is the 16th anniversary of the kidnapping and murder of a group of Bosnian civilians from Sjeverin,Sandzak, by the genocidal paramilitary formations of the Serbians living in Bosnia.

Fifteen Bosnian men and one woman from Sjeverin were on a bus to Priboj on the morning of October 22, 1992. The bus was stopped by a group of Serbian fascist in the village of Mioče.

After looking at their papers, they took only the Bosnian civilians out of the bus and took them to a truck which then transported them to the Vilina Vlas Hotel in the eastern Bosnian town of Višegrad.

There the Bosnian civilians were brutally tortured by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor, before being taken to the shore of the Drina River, where they were mass murdered.

Their bodies have yet to be found, 16 years later.

The families and friends of the genocide victims from Sjeverin held a commemoration today in Mioče and threw flowers into the Lim River, after which a procession of cars will travel to Višegrad to place flowers at the location where they are believed to have been murdered.

The genocide victims of the Sjeverin massacre were: Mehmed Šebo, Zafer Hadžić, Medo Hadžić, Medredin Hodžić, Ramiz Begović, Derviš Softić, Medhad Softić, Mujo Alihodžić, Alija Mandal, Sead Pecikoza, Mustafa Bajramović, Hajrudin Sajtarević, Esad Džihić, Ramahudin Ćatović, Idriz Gibović and Mevlida Koldžić.

NEW MASS GRAVE FOUND IN EASTERN BOSNIA

KAMENICA, Bosnia (October 16,2008) - A new mass grave believed to contain dozens of genocide victims of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre has been found in eastern Bosnia, an official said today.

The new grave is the 11th to be discovered in the eastern Bosnian village of Kamenica, near the town of Zvornik, said Murat Hurtic of the Bosnian Missing Persons Commission.

"We have exhumed remains of one person and 38 detached skeleton parts," he said adding that bullets were also found in the grave.

Hurtic said the exact number of bodies could be established only after DNA analyses.

"We are absolutely sure that these remains belong to Srebrenica victims," he said.

The exhumation work was expected to continue till the end of next week.Soil probes showed there were at least two more massgraves in the village.

The genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor overran the then U.N.-protected eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia, mass murdering some 10,000 Bosnian civilians in Europe’s single worst atrocity since World War II.

The genocide victims were initially buried in a dozen mass graves. But after the release of satellite pictures showing large portions of freshly disturbed ground, the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor moved them to other locations in order to cover up the crimes.

The body parts of the genocide victims were separated during reburial using bulldozers, and forensic experts have sometimes found parts of a single person buried in three different so-called secondary graves.

The remains of thousands of the genocide victims have been exhumed from about 70 mass graves around Srebrenica, with more than 5,600 Bosnian xivilians identified by DNA analysis.

The Srebrenica massacre has been ruled genocide by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), both based in The Hague,The Netherlands.

BOSNIAN AUTHORITIES ARRESTED FOUR SERBIAN WAR CRIMINALS TODAY

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (October 14,2008) - Bosnian police today arrested four Serbians living in Bosnia suspected of taking part in a mass murder of more than 200 Bosnian civilians and Croatians living in Bosnia during the 1992-95 Serbian aggression against Bosnia, the Bosnian State Prosecutor's Office said.

The mass murder in central Bosnia occurred on August 21st, 1992.Serbian war criminals Milorad Skrbic, Milorad Radakovic, Gordan Djuric and Ljubisa Cetic were arrested on charges of crimes against humanity in the area of the northwestern Bosnian town of Prijedor, the Bosnian State Prosecutor's office said in a statement.

"They are suspected of taking part in the execution on Mount Vlasic of more than 200 Bosniak and Croat civilians who had been taken off the buses that transported them from a Prijedor area concentration camp to the central Bosnian town of Travnik," it said.

The genocide victims were told by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor they were being released in a prisoner exchange and were driven from the Trnopolje concentration camp to some woods.

There, the detained Bosnian and Croatian civilians were forced to kneel by the edge of a ravine and shot by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor. A dozen survived by tumbling or jumping down the cliff.

Former member of the genocidal paramilitary fascist formations of the Serbians living in Bosnia (VRS),Serbian war criminal Darko Mrdja, who confessed to taking part in the massacre on Mount Vlasic, was jailed for 17 years in 2004 by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

PRESIDENT SILAJDŽIĆ: UNITED NATIONS MUST RIGHT THE WRONGS OF SREBRENICA

NEW YORK, UNITED NATIONS (September 24,2008) - The President of Bosnia Haris Silajdžić, had strong words for the United Nations at the 63rd opening of the UN General Assembly yesterday, stating the UN bore part of the responsibility for the genocide committed by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor, during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

"Through its acts and omissions, the United Nations, by its own admission, bears a part of the responsibility for the crimes committed at Srebrenica," said President Silajdžić.

“We do not want the United Nations to be haunted,” he told world leaders gathered at UN Headquarters in New York. “This Organization’s credibility is too important to the world to carry the burden of this failure.”

Rather, the world body must ensure that mistakes are not repeated and that past errors are corrected, President Silajdžić stressed.

“We cannot bring back the dead, but we can give dignity and justice to the genocide survivors,” he said. “What we say today is not aimed at the past, but at the future, and not only for Bosnia.”

Despite the positive results delivered by the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, many key issues remain, including the blocking of ‘minority’ returns by the genocidal Serbian fascist creature in Bosnia "RS", "by either directly taking part in violence or by not protecting people from attacks due to their ethnic background," the Bosnian President said.

“Dayton never intended such ethnic apartheid to take root in Bosnia,” he declared.

“It is the responsibility of this Organization to make it right,” he added. “Just as we should not have been forced to smuggle arms to defend ourselves, we should not be forced to smuggle basic human rights, justice and democracy” into the country.

President Silajdžić also praised a new indictment that UN prosecutors have filed against the former leader and creator of the genocidal Serbian fascist creature in Bosnia "RS" and one of the masterminds of the genocide against the Bosnian people,Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic in a move to speed up his trial.

Prosecutors asked judges at the Yugoslav war crimes tribunal to approve the amended indictment yesterday.

It includes two genocide charges referring to the 1992 campaign of "ethnic cleansing" against Bosnian civilians and the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of some 10,000 Bosnian civilians by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggression.

The Bosnian President Haris Silajdžić said the updated indictment would "further implicate" the regime of former Yugoslavian President,Serbian war criminal Slobodan Milosevic in the "planning and the commission of these crimes".

The new, streamlined indictment has Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic facing 11 charges in total, including genocide, and lists war crimes in 27 Bosnian municipalities - down from 41.

The court is under pressure from the United Nations to finish all its cases by 2010.

Here is the complete speech by the Bosnian President Haris Silajdžić on 63th General Assembly of the United Nations (September 23,2008):

"Mr. President,

Mr. Secretary-General,

Distinguished Delegates,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is an honor to address the sixty-third session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. Allow me to express my gratitude to Mr. Srgjan Kerim who ably presided over this body during the preceding year, and to congratulate Father Miguel d’Escoto Brockman, the new President of the General Assembly.

The first time I stood at this podium was in May 1992, as the Foreign Minister of a newly-independent Bosnia and Herzegovina. At that time, I recounted the unspeakable atrocities that were unfolding in my country. I also warned that, if not stopped, such atrocities would only get worse. In fact, I merely asked that Bosnia and Herzegovina be afforded the right to defend itself, the right guaranteed by the UN Charter.

We know what has happened since. Some in the international community insisted on maintaining the arms embargo imposed by the UN Security Council in 1991, thus adding to the obviously overwhelming military advantage of Milosevic’s regime that was bent on destroying Bosnia and its people. They justified this course by claiming that the lifting of the embargo would add oil to the fire. The result, inevitably, was quelling that fire with the blood of the innocent.

According to the ICRC data, 200,000 people were killed, 12,000 of them children, up to 50,000 women were raped, and 2.2 million were forced to flee their homes. This was a veritable genocide and sociocide. The intent of the perpetrators of this genocide was to forever destroy the unique multi-ethnic fabric of Bosnia and Herzegovina through mass slaughter, rapes, torture, abuse, expulsion and plunder. Despite of this, defenders of our country conducted themselves honorably, as demonstrated by the ICTY acquittals of most of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s military leadership.

All this culminated in Srebrenica in July, 1995. The International Court of Justice, in its Judgment of February 26, 2007, ruled that

“[T]he Bosnian Serbs devised and implemented a plan to execute as many as possible of the military aged Bosnian Muslim men present in the enclave…, that the acts committed at Srebrenica…were committed with the specific intent to destroy in part the group of the Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina as such; and accordingly that these were acts of genocide, committed by members of the [Army of Republika Srpska] in and around Srebrenica from about 13 July 1995.”

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Through its acts and omissions, the United Nations, by its own admission, bears a part of responsibility for the crimes committed at Srebrenica. In fact, the UN Secretary-General’s Report on Srebrenica from 2000 unequivocally states:

“Through error, misjudgment and an inability to recognize the scope of the evil confronting us, we failed to do our part to help save the people of Srebrenica from the Serb campaign of mass murder…Srebrenica crystallized a truth understood only too late by the United Nations and the world at large: that Bosnia was as much a moral cause as a military conflict. The tragedy of Srebrenica will haunt our history forever.”

We do not want the United Nations to be haunted. This organization’s credibility is too important to the world to carry the burden of this failure. Errors can be committed, but errors must not be repeated. We want the UN to right the wrongs. In fact, international law mandates that this must be done. Namely, the International Law Commission’s Articles on State Responsibility, adopted in this Assembly’s Resolution 56/83 of 12 December 2001, mandate that: “no State shall recognize as lawful a situation created by a serious breach of a [peremptory norm of general international law],” which clearly includes the crime of genocide and the crimes against humanity, “nor render aid or assistance in maintaining that situation.”

If these principles had been applied, would the institutions identified by the ICJ as perpetrators of genocide still exist? Would vast portions of a country remain ethnically clean? Would over 1 million of refugees and displaced persons remain outside their homes? In short, do these principles allow for the arrest of Karadzic and the simultaneous preservation of the results of his project?

We cannot bring back the dead, but we can give dignity and justice to the survivors. What we say today is not aimed at the past, but at the future, and not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina. We owe it not only to the victims and survivors, but to the humanity as a whole. The message to the would-be perpetrators of crimes in the name of a twisted ideology should be crystal clear: do not even think about it, your terror will not pay off.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, we had the opportunity to make that true by a consistent implementation of the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, which ended the aggression, stopped the genocide, and brought peace. These were its major accomplishments, and their value cannot be overemphasized.

Dayton, however, was also intended to reverse the effects of genocide and ethnic cleansing. It had all the necessary elements to do so. Instead, in the words of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its main provisions have been a victim of: “a systemic, continuing and deliberate practice of the public authorities of Republika Srpska with the goal of preventing the so-called ‘minority’ returns, either through direct participation in violent incidents or through the abdication of responsibility to protect the people from…violent attacks due solely to their ethnic background.”

Dayton never intended such ethnic apartheid to take root in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is not the implementation of Dayton, but the violation of its core principles, that led to this result. It would be a grave mistake to recognize this result as lawful and legitimate.

It is the responsibility of this organization to make it right. Just as we should not have been forced to smuggle arms to defend ourselves, we should not be forced to smuggle basic human rights, justice and democracy into Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Without righting this wrong can we genuinely celebrate the 60th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights this December. Moreover, can we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the adoption of the Genocide Convention if the first and only judgment of the International Court of Justice on the crime of genocide remains in the archives of that Court?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Now is the time to right these wrongs. We are about to start work on the new Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the outcome of that process will answer many of these questions.

To those who now seek to legitimize the systemic violations of the Dayton Agreement, we all must say: make no mistake, genocide will not be rewarded.

Rewarding genocide could send a dangerous message throughout the world, and would surely undermine the chances for permanent peace and stability in both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. Seekers of justice are not the enemies of peace. They are the guardians of peace.

Certainly, there are those in Bosnia and Herzegovina who would not agree with this, but they are surely not the victims of genocide.

Dear Friends,

We have not forgotten the help we received from many of the countries represented here today. A number of your soldiers, diplomats, aid workers and journalists died in Bosnia and Herzegovina while working to end the aggression, bring peace, ease the suffering, or to make sure the rest of the world knew about it. For that we thank them once again, and renew our sympathies to their families. An even greater number of countries have assisted us in rebuilding our society after the aggression, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for that as well. Bosnia and Herzegovina still needs your help in this regard, and we hope that we can work together in order to ensure permanent peace and stability in my country."

SERBIAN WAR CRIMINAL RADOVAN KARADZIC REFUSES TO ENTER GENOCIDE PLEA

THE HAGUE, The Netherlands (August 29,2008) - Former leader and creator of the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS" and one of the masterminds of the genocide against the Bosnian people,Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic has refused to enter a plea to to 11 charges of genocide and war crimes during his second appearance in front of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) today.

During a 24-minute hearing, Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic was told that he will be given the chance to air his claims that Nato and the US are trying to kill him at a special session of the UN's war crimes court on Sept 17.

"I will not plead in line with my standpoint as regards to this court," Serbian fascist said, refusing to plead guilty or not guilty.

Iain Bonomy, a Scottish UN judge who will be presiding over the rest of the trial proceedings, automatically entered a not guilty plea on Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic's behalf, in line with the court's rule.

"In that case I enter a plea of not guilty on your behalf," the judge said.

The 63-year-old Serbian war criminal continued to insist that he would represent himself over the 11 United Nations charges, but announced his intention of having a "team of associates" at a later date.

Genocide survivors,Bosnian women from the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica, watch the television broadcast of the appearance of former leader and creator of the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS" and one of the masterminds of the genocide against the Bosnian people committed during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia,Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic in the court room of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, the Netherlands,August 29, 2008. Serbian fascist Radovan Karadzic refused to enter pleas for all of the 11 charges against him. The charges against Karadzic include two of genocide over the 43-month siege of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo and the 1995 mass murder of 10,000 Bosnian civilians in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica.

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic who evaded justice for over a decade before finally being arrested in July while living as a faith healer in Belgrade, denounced the court as part of a Western conspiracy to kill him.

Judge Bonomy informed Serbian fascist that he would have the chance to argue his allegations of United States murder plot against him at a "status conference" in 19 days' time.

The judge, called in to replace his Dutch predecessor after complaints of bias from Serbian war criminal. He sharply criticised UN prosecutors for delays after hearing that a planned review of the charges contained in an "operative indictment", first drafted over eight years ago, would not be finished until the end of September.

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic is facing trial for genocide and other charges adding up to the most serious war crimes that have taken place on European soil since the Second World War.

UN prosecutors have indicted Serbian fascist Karadzic on 11 counts of offences including: genocide, complicity in genocide, crimes against humanity, extermination, violation of the customs of war, murder and the taking of hostages.

The accusations of genocide will focus on Mr Karadzic's pivotal role in the leadership of the Serbians living in Bosnia which orchestrated the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of up to 10,000 Bosnian civilians and the "death or forced departure" of Bosnian civilians from over 40 Bosnian towns, during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

The Srebrenica massacre, Europe's worst atrocity since World War II, has been termed genocide by two United Nations tribunals : International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and The International Criminal Court (ICC).

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic is also accused of war crimes following the shelling of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo where 12,000 Bosnian civilians (including 1600 children) were murdered by the genocidal Serbian aggressor.

SERBIAN WAR CRIMINAL RADOVAN KARADZIC WAS PROTECTED BY BRITAIN

LONDON, UK (August 11,2008) - Former leader and creator of the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS",Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic, who has been indicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for genocide and war crimes committed during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia, was able to avoid capture for 13 years because he received protection from London, a former Hague Tribunal official has claimed, the British Daily Telegraph reported yesterday.

James Luko, a former United Nations political affairs officer in Bosnia and a Hague Tribunal investigator, told a Belgrade newspaper that Gen Angus Ramsay, the former commander of British peacekeepers in Bosnia, was ordered by superiors in London to leave Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic alone just minutes before British troops prepared to capture him in August 1997.

Mr Luko, who spent several years in Belgrade before resigning in 2005, claimed he was one of three people present when Gen Ramsay entered a room at British Army headquarters in the northern Bosnian city of Banja Luka moments after speaking to London. Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic’s convoy, monitored from an Awacs plane, was visible on a large screen in the room.

“We are not police, we are soldiers, and therefore this is not our responsibility ”, Gen Ramsay allegedly said.

A spokesman for the British Ministry of Defence said: “We have no knowledge of this alleged incident and we would not comment on intelligence matters. The UK has been fully committed from the outset to bringing to justice indicted war criminals from the former Yugoslavia.”

A report in the same newspaper last week claimed that Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic was living under US protection until the CIA caught him breaking an agreement to stay out of politics.

In his first appearance before The Hague Tribunal, Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic claimed that Richard Holbrooke, the former US Assistant Secretary of State, had guaranteed him immunity if he withdrew from public life.

A former Hague Tribunal insider has added her comments to claims that Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadžić enjoyed support from Britain, the United States,Russia and France. Former Hague spokeswoman Florence Hartmann told the Belgrade daily Blic that the UN war crimes court's prosecution on several occasions gave the U.S. exact locations where Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic was hiding. But, Hartmann says, "they did nothing".

"Information about the fugitives' whereabouts was abundant, however, it would always turn out that one of the three countries – the U.S., Britain or France – would block arrests," she said.

BOSNIAN STATE COURT ORDERS CUSTODY FOR SERBIAN WAR CRIMINAL RADOMIR VUKOVIC CHARGED WITH GENOCIDE

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (August 11,2008) - The Bosnian State Court issued a Decision ordering into one-month custody for Serbian war criminal Radomir Vuković, who is suspected of the criminal offence of Genocide, committed during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia. Pursuant to the Decision, the custody may last until September 7th, 2008,the Bosnian State Court said.

Having considered the submitted evidence, the Bosnian State Court concluded that there was grounded suspicion that Serbian war criminal Radomir Vuković had committed the foregoing criminal offence.

Further, the Bosnian State Court ordered custody having found that there was sufficient evidence indicating the risk of his flight, and that Serbian war criminal, if released, might interfere with the criminal proceedings by influencing the witnesses.

Also, the Bosnian State Court ordered Serbian war criminal Radomir Vuković into custody given that the crime in question carries a 10-year imprisonment penalty or a harsher sentence, so due to the manner of perpetration or the consequences of the crime, bearing in mind that releasing would result in a genuine threat to public order.

PROFESSOR FRANCIS A. BOYLE: RICHARD HOLBROOK SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR BEING AN ACCOMPLICE IN THE GENOCIDE IN BOSNIA

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (August 4th,2008) - According to a professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law and an attorney for the Bosnian association of genocide survivors from the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica "the Mothers of Srebrenica" professor Francis A. Boyle, Richard Holbrook, who was Assistant U.S. Secretary of State in mid 90s, had a collusion with Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic, who has been charged by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) with genocide, extermination, murder, deportation, inhumane acts, and other crimes against Bosnian civilians, committed during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

"All evidence and records at hand indicate that Holbrooke was an accomplice in the genocide," the lawyer told the Azerbaijani Trend News Agency.

“But certainly Holbrooke aided and abetted war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and ethnic cleansing by Karadzic against the Bosnians,” Boyle, who was official juridical advisor for Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic and the representative of Bosnian Government at the International Court, said.

On 31 July, speaking to the Hague Tribunal,Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic, stated there is an agreement between him and Holbrook, former representative of the United Stated in the UN, who is very often "credited" to be the architect of the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, but should be actually fully credited for helping the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor commit genocide against Bosnians by ,first of all, supporting the criminal arms embargo against Bosnian government that left Bosnia and the Bosnian people without basic means to protect themselves during the 1992-1995 Serbian,Montenegrin and Croatian aggressions against Bosnia and by forcing the Bosnian leaders in 1995 to "legalize" the genocidal Serbian fascist creature in Bosnia "RS".

“In 1996, Holbrooke proposed me to abandon the public life and the United States would fulfil its obligations instead,” said Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic.

U.S. State Department denied the statement. According to an official of the U.S. State Department Sean McCormack, Holbrooke did not conclude any agreement with Karadzic.

However, lots of facts prove there was an agreement between American fascist Richard Holbrooke and Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic.

Brother of Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic, Luka Karadzic confirmed there is a bygone agreement between Karadzic and Holbrooke, Interfax, a Russian non-governmental news agency ,reported.

Boyle is confident there is much truth in Karadzic’s statement.

“Of course I was not privy to any personal conversations between Holbrooke and Karadzic. But certainly Holbrooke aided and abetted war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and ethnic cleansing by Karadzic against the Bosnians,” Boyle said.

“Holbrooke should be on trial in The Hague with Karadzic as an accomplice in the genocide,” he said.

Moreover, the attorney is confident the same is true for Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Kofi Annan, Yasushi Akashi, David Owen, Thorvald Stoltenberg, and Carl Bildt.

Boyle said it would be very inconvenient for all of these individuals and their Masters for Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic to defend himself they way he apparently plans to do so.

"Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic knows everything about how Western ‘mediators’ promoted his crimes," said Boyle.

“So I will be keeping a close eye on these war crimes proceedings in order to use this new information against these people on behalf of my clients the Mothers of Srebrenica,” said Boyle.

The task of the Bosnian association of genocide survivors from the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica "the Mothers of Srebrenica" is to search for more than 10,000 Bosnian civilians from Srebrenica missing in European largest massacre, committed by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor, on July 11, 1995.

The lawyer is sure that but he will be able to use his new information against these Western ‘mediators’ and diplomats in order to hold them accountable to his clients for the massacre.

“At the end of the day Karadzic will be spending the rest of his life in prison, where he should have been for quite some time in any event,” Boyle said.

Professor Boyle was the one who convinced the former ICTY Prosecutor Carla DelPonte to indict Serbian war criminal Slobodan Milosevic for every crime in the ICTY Statute, including genocide.

According to lawyer, earlier the arrest of Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic was undesirable, but possible for West.

"During the peace negotiations, Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic has been given visas to come and negotiate in Geneva. And in New York. The State Department let Karadzic come to New York to the Vance-Owen carve-up negotiations, with a US visa. The State Department was obliged under the Geneva Convention to apprehend Karadzic," Boyle said.

"The US had an absolute obligation to apprehend Karadzic if he showed up in New York, and to open an investigation, and to prosecute, instead, they're giving him a visa and secret service protection in New York," he said.

“They defended war criminals and those who committed genocide. These are big powers,” Boyle said.

UNITED STATES WANTS ME DEAD,SAYS SERBIAN WAR CRIMINAL RADOVAN KARADZIC

THE HAGUE, The Netherlands (August 1,2008) - Former leader and creator of the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS" and one of the masterminds of the genocide against Bosnians, committed during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia,Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic said yesterday the United States wanted him dead and accused it of reneging on a deal to shield him from trial by the UN war crimes court.

In a submission to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic said the United States' Bosnian peace negotiator Richard Holbrooke had promised he would avoid a trial if he withdrew from public life.

"Mr Holbrooke undertook on behalf of the USA that I would not be tried before this tribunal..." Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic said in the written submission made public by the ICTY.

Former leader and creator of the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS",Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic (C) stands in the court room of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia at the start of his initial appearance in The Hague July 31, 2008. Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic faces a U.N. war crimes judge for the first time to answer charges of genocide for his actions during the 1992-95 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

American fascist Richard Holbrooke strongly denied any such deal was struck after Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic, who was captured on July 21, first made the claims when he made his initial appearance before the UN tribunal yesterday.

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic said in the documents that the offer was made in 1996 to "the statesmen and ministers who were my authorised representatives".

This was in turn for Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic withdrawing "not only from public but also from party offices and completely disappear from the public arena, not give interviews and not even publish literary works, in a word become invisible long enough for the Dayton agreement to be implemented in full."

He claimed former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright had proposed to Biljana Plavsic, former leader of the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS", "that I get out of the way and go to Russia, Greece or Serbia and open a private clinic ... just as long as I left Pale."

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic said he tried to meet his end of the deal, but added it later became apparent there were attempts to "liquidate me".

"It is clear that, unable to fulfil the commitments he had undertaken on behalf of the USA, he (Holbrooke) switched to Plan B -- the liquidation of Radovan Karadzic," Serbian war criminal said.

"The agreement, which should have brought me peace and freedom, thus became a source of great danger to my life, and to the life and safety of my family and even my friends," Serbian war criminal said.

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic faces a U.N. war crimes judge for the first time to answer charges of genocide for his actions during the 1992-95 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic added that "Holbrooke's wish for my disappearance ... is today still fresher and stronger and the actions aimed at bringing this about are tireless."

"While these activities continue, and with this threat to my life, I have to sit in a place which is known to him and his friends and prepare my defence," he said.

American fascist Richard Holbrooke denied in an interview with CNN yesterday that any deal with Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic existed.

He also said recently that he still supports the existence of the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS",which is Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic's creation.

“The Dayton Accords are clear. There can be no breakaway of any of Bosnia’s parts, the country’s entities are a reality, and it’s necessary to pluck up the courage to bolster constitutional organization for Bosnia to be able to take further steps towards the EU, and quickly become a member of Euro-Atlantic integration,” Holbrooke told a member of the Bosnian State Presidency Zeljko Komcic in April,2008.

American fascist Richard Holbrooke's argument that "the RS is a reality" is bunk. For a few years, Nazi Germany's occupation of most of Europe was a reality, also, but it was neither legal nor moral -just like the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS". In connection to Nazi Germany, it has been famously said that forcing the victims of genocide to live with and accept the results of genocide is also an act of genocide. For Holbrooke to say that the genocidal fascist Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS" is a reality that Bosnians "should accept", is simply morally indefensible.

At yesterday's hearing, Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic told ICTY judge Alphons Orie that the deal had put his life at risk.

"I was in danger of being liquidated because I had made a commitment,"
Serbian war criminal stated. He expressed fears that "Holbrooke's long arm" may extend even into the courtroom.

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic indicated he will defend himself at the trial and experts have said he will try to make it a political showcase.

"I cannot imagine that his defence would be anything but a political one," said Pierre Hazan, author of an acclaimed book on the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) that is handling
Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic.

"He cannot defend himself on a judicial level."

Florence Hartmann, former spokeswoman and adviser to previous war crimes prosecutor, Carla del Ponte, said Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic has made it clear he would have "things to say" about promises made by the West in peace negotiations.

"The family has always said they have evidence of proof (of the secret agreement)," she said.

"Many have claimed that Holbrooke promised not to deliver Karadzic to the ICTY in exchange for his exit from the public scene," Hartmann added.

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic faces a U.N. war crimes judge for the first time yesterday to answer genocide charges after his dramatic arrest that ended 13 years on the run. Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic faces two charges of genocide over the 43-month siege of the Bosnian caoital Sarajevo and the 1995 mass murder of some 10,000 Bosnian civilians from the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica, the worst atrocity in Europe since World War II.

Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic, 63, was arrested in Belgrade 13 years after the ICTY first issued an indictment against him over numerous genocidal campaigns during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

He faces 11 charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

The charges focus on the 44-month siege of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo that left 10,000 Bosnian civilians dead, and the July 1995 mass murder of around 10,000 Bosnian civilians in the UN-protected safe area of the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica.

If convicted, Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic faces life imprisonment.A plea hearing was scheduled for August 29th,2008.

BOSNIAN PRESIDENT HARIS SILAJDZIC: CAPTURE OF SERBIAN WAR CRIMINAL RADOVAN KARADZIC IS A GREAT DAY FOR BOSNIA

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (July 24,2008) - The arrest of Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic will be marked as a great day for Bosnia, the Bosnian President Haris Silajdzic said in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.President Silajdzic, in his first reaction on Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic’s arrest, said in his statement for the Bosnian state television (BHT) that it has been shown that the justice still can be reached, but he has also warned that Serbian war criminal Ratko Mladic is still at large.

The Bosnian President Haris Silajdzic said that it must not be allowed that the project of those two Serbian war criminals still lives in Bosnia, and by this he meant on the consequences of genocide they are responsible for.

"This is at least some satisfaction for the families of the genocide victims. The justice, however, cannot be complete without the arrest of Ratko Mladic," President Silajdzic said.

Although he had been skeptical about the prospects for Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic's arrest, he said that his belief in justice has been restored.

The Bosnian President Haris Silajdzic also said that the arrest of Serbian war criminal Radovan Karadzic will contribute to justice, peace and stability in Bosnia as well as catharsis in the genocidal Serbia.

Serbian war criminals Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, have been indicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) since 1995 on charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and other war crimes committed during the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

BOSNIAN STATE COURT SHOULD TRY SERBIAN WAR CRIMINAL BILJANA PLAVSIC FOR GENOCIDE

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (July 21,2008) - Prisons in Sweden are famous for their "enlightened" attitude towards inmates – hardly surprising given that the country’s human rights standards are the best in the world.

But the convicted Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic, a former political leader of the Serbian living in Bosnia and the first woman sentenced for war crimes at International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), might disagree.

Ever since she was transferred from The Hague to the Hinseberg Prison for Women, Sweden's only national prison for females, her letters have been full of complaints, some quite bizarre – air-conditioning too strong, a birthday cake presented to her by wardens not big enough.

In January 2007, Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic asked the Swedish government for an amnesty. Although that request was declined, she did not give up. Just two weeks ago,she had tried again. The tribunal and the Swedish government are yet to respond.

The Plavsic case should serve as a lesson for future plea agreements at the war crimes chamber of the Bosnian State Court. Like the tribunal, this has no mechanisms for punishing those war criminals who admit their guilt and then, after receiving minor sentences, protest their innocence.

Following her plea agreement with Hague prosecutors in 2002, Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic accepted partial responsibility for war crimes committed by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor during the 1992-95 Serbian aggression against Bosnia, including one count of persecutions on political, racial and religious grounds.

She made a formal apology and was subsequently sentenced to only 11 years in prison in 2003. Crucially, prosecutors dropped genocide charges against her.

While Plavsic pleaded guilty and showed repentance at her trial, her subsequent protestations of innocence and requests for amnesty tell a very different story.

In her recently published memoirs, “Hunt: Me and War Criminals”, former Hague chief prosecutor Carla Del Ponte said Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic claimed to be innocent to tribunal prosecutors after she was sentenced.

Shortly after her conviction, Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic said her repentance for her war crimes was false – a show to deceive the Hague prosecutors and judges, as well as the Bosnian public.

Indeed, in her book, Del Ponte admits that she should never have relied on Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic’s honesty.

Unfortunately, there is nothing the tribunal can do about that.

A close examination of the chain of events that led to the deal between Hague prosecutors and Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic could be instructive for the Bosnian State Court and help it avoid making the same mistakes.

As part of Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic’s plea deal, she laid the blame for the genocide committed during the 1992-95 Serbian aggression against Bosnia on the late former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic, and on former leaders of the Serbians living in Bosnia,Serbian war criminals Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic.

Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic, on the other hand, only “supported and endorsed” the genocidal objective.

In a statement, Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic admitted to the Court that she was repeatedly told about crimes against Bosnian civilians, yet she refused to accept they happened.

“Our leadership, of which I was a necessary part, led an effort which victimised countless innocent people,” she admitted.

Even though the media reported her plea favourably, emphasising the positive role her admission of guilt could play in the reconciliation process, there were some who doubted her honesty. Her apology was certainly too little, too late for the Bosnian genocide victims’ associations.

The sceptics were proven right. Her later claims of innocence and requests for amnesty show the convicted Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic has not come to terms with what she did, nor accepted her punishment.

So where did the Hague prosecutors go wrong?

Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic plea agreement was a clumsy combination of retributive and restorative justice. The retributive part, or the punishment, was reduced by the restorative part – her apology and the potential for reconciliation this could bring.

Theoreticians believe there are three steps necessary for restorative justice to be valid.

The first is for the criminal to understand the consequences of their actions and feel truly guilty; secondly, show a desire to repair the damage done; and, thirdly, accept punishment willingly.

In Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic’s case, the first condition appeared to be met when she made her apology in the ICTY courtroom. However, this principle was violated when prosecutors agreed to drop the genocide charges against her.

The natural second step would be for her to call for multiculturalism across Bosnia. The genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS" emerged partly as a result of Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic’s participation in the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic

Therefore, if the convicted Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic wanted to redeem herself, it would be reasonable to expect that while she was in prison she should send messages calling for peace and multiculturalism and warning about the dangers of Serbian fascism – which she has not done.

Finally, she should serve her shamefully low 11-year sentence with dignity and without complaints. This is not happening.

If Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic did not accept responsibility and did not truly repent, why then did she bother to apologise at all? Some analysts see part of the answer in the wording of her apology.

“I came for two reasons: to confront these charges and to spare my people, for it was clear that they would pay the price of any refusal to come,” she said at the time.

Some believe this implied that she wanted to avoid the sanctions the international community was threatening to impose on the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS" if it refused to cooperate with the tribunal.

A greater insight into Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic’s psyche can be found in “I Testify”, or "Svedocim", the lengthy volume Plavsic wrote in prison and published in 2005.

The book is full of extreme fascist messages in line with her wartime rhetoric, and its content flies in face of her agreement with Hague prosecutors.

In one of Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic's most infamous statements, published in 1993 by the Belgrade weekly magazine Svet, she said Bosnians were “genetically spoiled material” which justified their destruction.

In I Testify, she speaks about sacrificing herself for the Serbian people, suggesting that she only pleaded guilty to save the Serbian people from the burden of collective guilt.

It is curious that nobody from the ICTY has ever commented on her book – despite the fact that its contents contradict the statement she made following her plea agreement, in which she gave up her right to claim innocence.

Del Ponte’s memoirs reveal more of what happened during negotiations for Plavsic’s plea agreement.

At the time, she said, her office was surprised to hear from the accused’s lawyers that she was willing to plead guilty – but not to the count of genocide. Now it seems clear that Del Ponte accepted this deal too readily.

In her book, Del Ponte writes that although Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic promised to testify against Serbian war criminal Momcilo Krajisnik who is also a former leader of the Serbians living in Bosnia, she changed her mind after she moved from the Hague detention unit to the Swedish prison.

“Dressed in a stiff tweed skirt, like a proper British lady, [Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic] informed me that she was a doctor of biology and proceeded to describe the superiority of the Serbian people. Her nonsense was nauseating, and I brought the meeting to an end. I wanted to seek life imprisonment against her,” said Del Ponte.

Now it seems the former prosecutor should have trusted her first impressions.

While Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic promised verbally to testify against other Serbian war criminals, she refused to put it in writing.

“I had felt that my personal contact with Plavsic, despite her racial-superiority claptrap, had been so cordial that I could trust her,” said Del Ponte, admitting this was an error.

In her book, Del Ponte describes trying to rectify the situation.

“We must advise the Trial Chamber of what Mrs Plavsic is now saying,” Del Ponte told her team, at some point following Plavsic’s volte face. “Let's present a motion to the court to put Biljana Plavsic on trial.”

In the former prosecutor’s memoirs, she recalls sending a motion to the tribunal president – although does not say when this took place. However, he apparently returned it, saying he lacked jurisdiction.

She then sent the same motion to the trial chamber that accepted the plea.

“I still await their response,” she wrote.

As the court’s deadline of 2010 draws closers, Del Ponte continues to wait for an answer.

However, there might be a job here for the Bosnian State Court. While it is not possible to charge someone for the same crimes twice, the fact that the genocide charges against Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic were dropped could open the door for a new indictment against her.

If the judges in The Hague were to find that she violated her plea agreement, there is a real possibility for re-opening her genocide case at the Bosnian State Court.

It seems increasingly unlikely that Serbian war criminals Radovan Karadzic or Ratko Mladic (who are charged with genocide by the ICTY) are ever going to see the inside of an ICTY courtroom.

Since Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic was the highest-ranking politician of the Serbians living in Bosnia to stand trial at The Hague, it would be a right thing for the justice process to try her for all crimes she was suspected of having committed, including the crime of genocide.

It would replace the ICTY’s ill-advised restorative principle with the proper retributive justice Serbian war criminal Biljana Plavsic deserves.

BOSNIA MARKS 13TH ANNIVERSARY OF GENOCIDE IN SREBRENICA

SREBRENICA, Bosnia (July 11,2008) - Some 30,000 Bosnians gathered today to remember the genocide committed by the Serbian fascist aggressor in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica in July 1995 and bury the remains of 307 newly identified genocide victims.

The somber funeral ceremony for the 307 genocide victims, who were among 10,000 mass murdered Bosnian civilians from Srebrenica in Europe's worst atrocity since World War II, was held at the Genocide Memorial Center in Potocari, near Srebrenica.

The remains of 307 genocide victims, aged between 15 and 84, were exhumed from mass graves after the end of the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia and identified by DNA analysis.

After leading mourners in prayer, Head of the Bosnian Islamic Community Reisu-l-ulema Mustafa Ef. Ceric called on the European Parliament to proclaim July 11 a day of mourning across the continent.

"On that day in all capitals, events should be organized at which nations of Europe would make a vow to each other that Genocide and the Holocaust will never happen again," Reisu-l-ulema Mustafa Ef. Ceric said in a speech.

The 307 newly identified genocide victims were buried today in the Genocide Memorial Center, next to some 3,200 genocide victims from Srebrenica already buried there.

The genocide in this part of Bosnia happened near the end of the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia, after the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor overran the then UN-protected eastern Bosnian town.

At today's ceremony, the genocide survivors and victims' relatives were joined by diplomats and local leaders led by the Bosnian President Haris Silajdzaic and a member of the Bosnian State Presidency Zeljko Komsic.

"We expect Serbia...to arrest as soon as possible and hand over all those who took part in the genocide project," the Bosnian President Haris Silajdzic said.

The masterminds of the genocide in Bosnia - Serbian war criminals Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic - are both hiding from justice somewhere in the genocidal Serbia.

"Today, when we remember with sadness this crime, I want to stress that we will never give up the search for justice and those who are responsible for genocide," said the International Community's High Representative/EU Special Representative in Bosnia Miroslav Lajčák.

The International Court of Justice and the UN war crimes tribunal, both based in The Hague, have ruled that the Srebrenica massacre was an act of genocide.

"It's a shame that Serbian war criminals Karadzic and Mladic are not arrested," US war crimes ambassador John Williamson said in a newspaper interview published today, pledging to press for their capture.

His words were echoed by the genocide victims' relatives.

"We are still fighting to prove to the world what has happened here while those who are the most responsible for the crime are being rewarded with freedom," said Munira Subasic, head of the association of the genocide survivors "Mothers of Srebrenica".

Another mourner, Vanesa Mehmedovic watched on as remains of her father were simultaneously laid in graves along with the 307 other genocide victims.

"It was so hard when they informed me that my father has been identified," said Mehmedovic, who added however that she was "glad that his soul will finally find peace."

Almost 220 buses ferrying around 10,000 people had converged on Srebrenica for the ceremony, while many more arrived in other vehicles, said organizers.

Some 2,000 Bosnians had earlier taken part in a symbolic march. The 100-kilometre walk includes the hills and woods of eastern Bosnia, where thousands of Bosnian civilians were mass murdered by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor while trying to reach the free territories controlled by the Bosnian Army in the country's north.

The "March of Death - Path of Freedom" started from the village of Nezuk, near the eastern Bosnian town of Zvornik, and ended in the Genocide Memorial Centre in Potocari today.

"This is the third time that I am taking part in the march. The first time ... I was just walking ... haunted by thoughts," Refik Dervisevic, genocide survivor said.

"Last year I remembered the details from July 1995. I saw the place where I separated from my brother who was murdered," he said.

The mass burial of newly identified genocide victims, once a year on the anniversary the genocide in Srebrenica, has become a central part of Bosnian national identity, a chance for remembrance and family reunions.

The air is filled with sobs, greetings and the smell of thyme.

"This day is even more difficult for me because I have found the body of one of my children but I cannot bury him," said Hatidza Mehmedovic, 56, who lost her husband and two sons.

The body of one son was found in 1998 but partially identified only last year. DNA analysis however cannot show which one of the two it is. Only three bones have been found of her husband's body.

"This is taking too long, I don't want to die without finding the truth," she said.

The massacre started on July 11, 1995, when U.N. troops protecting Srebrenica during a 3-year siege stepped aside and allowed the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor to take over and stage a week-long mass murder.

The bodies of genocide victims were first buried by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor in mass graves, then dug out with bulldozers and moved to smaller graves to hide the crime. A genocide victim's remains can be scattered in several locations, and are not released for burial until two-thirds of the body have been recovered.

"The bodies of these 307 people have been found in as many as 55 different locations," said Amor Masovic, the member of the Bosnian Commission for Missing Persons. "Some of them had been found in the ground nearly 13 years ago."

So far some 3,200 genocide victims from srebrenica have been buried at the Genocide Memorial Center built in 2003. Thousands more are yet to be exhumed and identified in the area, where some 70 mass graves have been uncovered.

"Genocide occurred here. This fact cannot be minimised, it cannot be evaded and cannot and must not be denied," said the U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia Charles English.

The relatives of the genocide victims feel the world has forgotten Srebrenica.

"The U.N. will never acknowledge their mistake, even though the genocide happened on their watch, before the eyes of the world," said 36-year old Hafiza Klepic, who came from Denmark to bury the remains of her husband.

She buried her brother last year, and is still waiting for her father to be found.

"But we will not give up, justice must be done, If it doesn't happen on this earth, then God will be the judge."

BOSNIAN GOVERNMENT DECLARES JULY 11 A NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (July 11,2008) - The Bosnian government decided yesterday to make July 11, 2008 the Bosnian National Day of Mourning.

Furthermore, the Organizing Committee for marking the 13th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica received 150,000 Bosnian Marks from the Bosnian state budget.

On July 11,1995 the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor overrun the Bosnian town of Srebrenica, which had been declared a safe haven by the United Nations two years earlier. The Dutch peacekeepers did not fire a single shot in defense, and the UN did not respond to the Dutch commander's calls for air support.

Dutch soldiers in U.N. blue helmets did absolutely nothing to protect Bosnian civilians. They just watched on as Bosnian women and young girls were taken away and raped by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor and some 10,000 Bosnian civilians being taken away for summary execution.

The massacre, Europe’s worst since World War II, has been classified as an act of genocide by the International Court of Justice and the UN war crimes tribunal, both based at The Hague,The Netherlands.

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (July 10,2008) - Thousands of Bosnians paid tribute in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo yesterday to more than 300 Bosnian civilians mass murdered by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica before their remains were to be buried later this week on the 13th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.

“I came to pay tribute to the genocide victims since it is my duty,” said Safija Mulovic, a shopkeeper. “I am here to mourn the death of innocent people.”

In July 1995, the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor mass murdered some 10,000 Bosnian civilians in Srebrenica. The massacre, Europe’s worst since World War II, has been classified as an act of genocide by the International Court of Justice and the UN war crimes tribunal, both based at The Hague,The Netherlands.

The remains of 307 genocide victims, aged between 15 and 84, will be buried near Srebrenica on the 13th anniversary of the genocide tomorrow.

The convoy of trucks carrying the remains of the genocide victims briefly stopped in front of the building of the Bosnian State Presidency where the Bosnian President Haris Silajdzic and a member of the Bosnian Presidency - Zeljko Komsic - paid their respects.

People stood alongside the roads through which the convoy passed, many of them crying. They threw roses onto the trucks, while some were praying.

The genocide victims’ bodies were exhumed from mass graves after the end of the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia and have been identified by DNA analysis.

Some 3,200 genocide victims from Srebrenica have been buried so far at the Genocide Memorial Center in Potocari, near Srebrenica, built in 2003, but thousands of others are yet to be exhumed and identified. More than 60 mass graves have been uncovered in the area.

“Serbia has to extradite those charged for crimes” committed in Srebrenica, the Bosnian President Haris Silajdzic told journalists.

The masterminds of the genocide in Bosnia - Serbian war criminals Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic - are both hiding from justice somewhere in the genocidal Serbia.

307 GENOCIDE VICTIMS TO BE BURIED IN SREBRENICA ON JULY 11

SREBRENICA, Bosnia (July 8,2008) – The remains of 307 Bosnian civilians murdered by the genocidal Serbin fascist aggressor in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica in 1995 will be buried on July 11 on the anniversary of Europe’s worst atrocity since World War II, organisers said yesterday. The funeral is to be held at the site where some 10,000 Bosnian civilians were mass murdered by the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor in July 1995.The bodies of genocide victims were exhumed from mass graves after the end of the 1992-1995 Serbian aggression against Bosnia and have been identified by DNA analysis. The genocide victims were aged between 15 and 75.

Some 2,900 genocide victims from Srebrenica have been buried so far at the Genocide Memorial Centre built in 2003,near Srebrenica but thousands of others are yet to be exhumed and identified. More than 60 mass graves have been uncovered in the area.

Meanwhile, forensic experts have found another mass grave near Srebrenica, the Bosnian national radio reported. The 17m long grave is outside the village of Zeleni Jadar, about 15km south of Srebrenica. Exhumation is to be completed in two weeks.

The site is the eighth of what are known as the secondary graves to be found in Zeleni Jadar, where the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor brought bodies of the genocide victims to cover up the massacre.

Previously exhumed sites contained the remains of several hundred genocide victims. Remains were reburied by bulldozers, so most of the skeletons were incomplete which makes DNA identification process very difficult.

All 307 bodies of the genocide victims were excavated from mass graves in eastern Bosnia and identified by teams of Bosnian and international forensic experts. The burial ceremony will be held on 11 July, 2008, in Srebrenica, on the 13th anniversary of the genocide in this part of Bosnia when the genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor's mass murdered some 10,000 Bosnian civilians.

The Srebrenica massacre has been classified as an act of genocide by the International Court of Justice and the UN war crimes tribunal, both based at The Hague.

The masterminds of the genocide in Bosnia - Serbian war criminals Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic - are still hiding from justice, protected by the genocidal Serbia.

Friday’s commemoration of the genocide, at which tens of thousands of Bosnians are expected, comes amid warnings of possible violence after a recent UN court ruling.

Last week, a UN appeals court acquitted the former commander of the Bosnian Army units in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica Naser Oric of all war crimes charges including the killings of six genocidal Serbian fascist aggressor's soldiers captured and held by the Bosnian Army in 1992 and 1993 in Srebrenica.

ICTY INVESTIGATOR DEAN MANNING TO TESTIFY BEFORE BOSNIAN STATE COURT AT TRIAL OF 11 SERBIAN WAR CRIMINALS

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (February 22,2008) – At the trial of 11 Serbian war criminals, former members of the genocidal paramilitary forces of the Serbians living in Bosnia (VRS),charged with genocide before the Bosnian State Court, a discussion was held yesterday on a number of procedural issues, as well as on the witnesses who will appear at the Court and those who have refused to testify.

The Bosnian State Prosecutor charges the 11 Serbian war criminals with the mass murder of around 1,000 Bosnian civilians in the eastern Bosnian village of Kravica on July 13,1995.

It was announced that International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) investigator Dean Manning, who lives in Australia, might be examined on March 12, at midnight, due to the time difference between Bosnia and Australia.

The Defence teams of the 11 indictees charged with genocide committed in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica in 1995,during the Serbian aggression against Bosnia, are due to cross-examine Manning, after the Bosnian State Prosecutor has filed a transcript of his testimony at the trial of a convicted Serbian war criminal Vidoje Blagojevic, who was sentenced by the ICTY to 15 years' imprisonment for crimes committed in Srebrenica.

"The Australian legal authorities are willing to help us and facilitate a video-conference within their working hours. The time difference is ten hours, and the only way to make this happen is to begin the examination at midnight," Trial Chamber Chairman Hilmo Vucinic said, adding that he will attempt to establish the video-link at "a more adequate time".

The Defence attorneys did not have any problems with "examining this witness at midnight", as his testimony is "in the interest of the Defence".

Following Manning's examination, investigators Richard Batler and Jean Rere Ruez are due to be cross examined by the end of March.

At this hearing, the Trial Chamber informed the Defence teams that two ICTY convicts who are serving their sentences in Norway - Serbian war criminals Dragan Obrenovic, sentenced to 17 years, and Vidoje Blagojevic – have refused to testify in favour of the 11 Serbian war criminals.

"Obrenovic is not willing to testify as he is concerned for the safety of his family, while Blagojevic claims he does not know Serbian war criminal Milos Stupar and has no connection with him at all," Judge Vucinic explained.

At the request of Serbian war criminal Milos Stupar's Defence, the Trial Chamber admitted the transcripts and recordings of the testimonies of Zoran 'Pirocanac' Petrovic and Nikola Gajic in The Hague, who "were also not willing to testify".

Petrovic is a journalist who was with the genocidal Serbian aggressor during the attack on Srebrenica on July 11, 1995. The Defence attorneys said that Gajic was "an eyewitness of the events".

The Bosnian State Prosecutor proposed that the statements given by Serbian war criminal Ljubomir Borovcanin to investigators prior to being charged be included as material evidence. Serbian war criminal Ljubomir Borovcanin is currently on trial in The Hague for genocide committed by the Serbian aggressor in Srebrenica.

The Bosnian State Prosecutor Ibro Bulic suggested that Alister Graham, the ICTY investigator who examined Serbian war criminal Ljubomir Borovcanin, be called as a witness to talk about the acceptability of those statements. The Defence teams objected, asking for another chance for cross-examination.

The Prosecution also proposed a list of evidence to refute the Defence's allegations, including a proposal for the examination of two witnesses who would speak about the happenings in Srebrenica of July 13, 1995.

In July 1995 the genocidal Serbian aggressor mass murdered up to 10,000 Bosnian civilians from Srebrenica.

The trial of 11 Serbian war criminals charged with genocide is due to continue before the Bosnian State Court on March 12.

TRIAL OF THREE SERBIAN WAR CRIMINALS CHARGED WITH MURDER OF 23 BOSNIAN CIVILIANS TO CONTINUE TODAY

SARAJEVO, Bosnia (February 18,2008) – At the trial of Serbian war criminals Milorad Savic, Mirko (son of Spiro) Pekez and Mirko (son of Mile) Pekez before the Bosnian State Court ,Prosecution witness Fahrija Mutic recognised Serbian war criminal Milorad Savic and said that he participated, together with other Serbian aggressor's soldiers, in the mass murder of a group of Bosnian civilians in the Bosnian village of Tisovac in September 1992,during the Serbian aggression against Bosnia.

The witness claims that the two Serbian war criminals named Pekez also participated in the mass murder. The Bosnian State Prosecutor charges Serbian war criminals Milorad Savic, Mirko (Spiro) Pekez and Mirko (Mile) Pekez with murdering of 23 Bosnian civilians from Ljoljici and Cerkazovici villages in Jajce municipality.

The indictment alleges that the three former members of the genocidal paramilitary forces of the Serbians living in Bosnia (VRS) and reserve police forces detained Bosnian civilians from these two villages, took them to Tisovac, and murdered them on September 10, 1992. According to the indictment, four Bosnian civilans survived the mass murder. Prosecution witness Fahrija Mutic was one of them.

The witness said how two Serbian aggressor's soldiers came to the house in which he and a group of other Bosnian civilians were hiding on September 10, 1992.

"Jovo Jandric and Mirko (Mile) Pekez knocked on the door and took us out. They were armed. Jovo told us that we were going to be exchanged and we believed him," the witness said, adding that he saw Serbian war criminal Milorad Savic on the way.

The witness said that the Bosnian civilians were taken by the genocidal Serbian aggressor to a meadow, where they were asked to put away their money and jewelry. He claims to have also seen Serbian war criminal Mirko (Spiro) Pekez on the way to the meadow.

"When we came to the meadow, they ordered us to stand by the abyss and then we heard shooting," the witness said, adding that he survived the shooting because his cousin's body protected him from bullets.

Second Prosecution witness Dragan Nisic said that, in September, Nedjeljko Jandric, a former member of the genocidal paramilitary formations of the Serbians living in Bosnia, told him to check the news on the mass murder.

"On our way we met a Bosnian, who told us that Jovo Jandric was among the soldiers who had done the shooting," the witness said.

The Prosecution's indictment alleges that Serbian war criminal Jovo Jandric was an accomplice in the shooting.

"After that we met a man who claimed to have survived the shooting. He also said that Mirko Pekez, Milorad Savic and Zoran Maric were among the group of soldiers who had taken them. We also met a boy who had survived the shooting and this shook me up very much. The boy had a wound made by bullet and his ear was dangling," Nisic said.

The witness added that he "saw a scary scene at the location where the execution had taken place".

"There were bodies of killed civilians lying over each other and there were many spent bullets around them," Nisic recalled.

Witness Dragan Zdrnja also recalled the scene he saw at the location of the mass murder.

"I was very scared as I had never seen so many dead people. They were all civilians. I went back in a van, together with three wounded civilians. I took them to the ambulance," Zdrnja said, adding that he heard later that Serbian war criminal Jovo Jandric was involved in the execution.

The trial of Serbian war criminals Milorad Savic, Mirko (Spiro) Pekez and Mirko (Mile) Pekez is due to continue before the Bosnian State Court today, February 18, 2008.
