SARAJEVO, Bosnia (October 14,2008) - Coordination meeting of the representatives of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (AII), Permanent International Secretariat of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC PERMIS) and Central European Initiative (CEI) took place yesterday in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.The host was the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
This regional meeting has been organized in order to analyse the ways of harmonizing the activities of the RCC Secretariat with the activities of the three initiatives which have 42 member countries.
They also discussed the projects that are related to developing and modernising the regional transport infrastructure network.AII General Secretary Alessandro Grafini, BSEC PERMIS General Secretary Ambassador Leonidas Chrysanthopoulos and CEI General Secretary Ambassador Pietro Ercole Ago were present at the meeting.
South East Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) representatives, CEI President, President of Republic of Moldova and members of initiatives from Albania and Greece are also present at the meeting.

SEMINAR ON SECURITY POLICY AND REGIONAL COOPERATION HELD IN SARAJEVO
SARAJEVO, Bosnia (March 8,2008) – A two.day seminar was held on Thursday and Friday in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo, focusing on security policy and cooperation. The seminar was entitled “Security Policy from the Perspective of Regional Cooperation in the Southeastern Europe”, organized by the Bosnian Foreign Affairs Ministry and Centre for Safety Policy from Geneva.
The Bosnian Foreign Affairs Minister Sven Alkalaj held the introductory speech and thanked the organizers of the project.
He emphasized that regional cooperation is an impetrative in the situation which is full of security challenges and threats.
”Regional cooperation has always been one of the top priorities of the Bosnian foreign policy and our goal is to strengthen it further on the basis of joint interests, equality and mutual respect”, Minister Alkalaj said.
He in that sense emphasized pleasure over the election of Sarajevo for the Regional cooperation Council (RCC) HQs.
OSCE Head of Mission to Bosnia Ambassador Douglas Davidson addressed the participants as well. He talked about the importance of cooperation in the sector of security for the purpose of a successful resentment to the global threats,
”Justice and mutual respect and cooperation are the basic values of the OSCE concept of the European safety. I hope that they will also become the basis of the region’s policy”, Ambassador Davidson stated.

REGIONAL STABILITY PACT TRANSFERS JURISDICTION TO RCC
SOFIA, Bulgaria (February 29,2008) – A meeting was held in Bulgaria of the Southeastern Europe Regional Stability Pact, which officially marked the end of the Stability Pact and transfer of jurisdiction to the Regional cooperation council (RCC), headquartered in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.
The session was resided by Stability Pact Special Coordinator Erhard Busek, who officially passed the jurisdiction to the Council’s Secretary General Hidajet Biscevic.
The Bulgarian Vice President and Foreign Affairs Minister Ivajlo Kalfin and the President of the Council of Europe and thr Slovenian Foreign Affairs Minister Dimitrij Rupel addressed the meeting participants.
The Bosnian Foreign Affairs Minister Sven Alkalaj also addressed the participants of the session on the occasion of the official transfer of authorities. He thanked the countries participants of the South East European Co-operation Process (SEECP) for supporting Bosnia and its capital by a consensus in the process of making it RCC headquarters.
”Let me, on behalf of the Bosnian state and its high officials sincerely thank you for the trust that you have showed us. This truly is a great challenge to our instrument of cooperation in the region, which should contribute the strengthening of regional stability, prosperity and an accelerated democratization of SE Europe. This is also a possibility for progress in EU reform processes and an opportunity for assembling of all the countries of the region around one and main goal”, Alkalaj said.
Minister Alkalaj stated his belief that Bosnia will make a good host to the future RCC activities.
