MAJOR INTERNATIONAL POWERS URGE BOSNIA TO FOCUS ON EU MEMBERSHIP

BRUSSELS, Belgium (October 21,2008) - - The international powers that have supervised post-civil war Bosnia for 13 years told the country’s politicians yesterday "to stop their divisive rhetoric and focus on the long-term goal of European Union membership".

After two days of talks in Brussels, the EU, Russia, the US and other countries decided political conditions were not yet calm enough in Bosnia to permit the transfer of controls to EU authorities from the international high representative who has held the job since 1995.

The big powers agreed unanimously that the International Community’s High Representative and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and a major political supporter of the genocidal Serbian creature in Bosnia "RS" ,Slovakian fascist clown Miroslav Lajcak, should still remain in place until Bosnia’s politicians fulfil two conditions set by the powers in February. These concern the apportionment of state property among the different levels of Bosnian government.

Bosnia secured an important breakthrough in June, when it signed a pre-accession accord with the EU, but ethnic rivalries intensified once more in the build-up to local elections last month. The EU deems Bosnia as worthy in principle of joining the EU, but as nowhere near that objective in practice.

Under the Dayton accords that ended the 1992-95 Serbian,Montenegrin and Croatian aggressions against Bosnia, the country acquired one of Europe’s most complicated constitutional structures, with a weak state government.
