SARAJEVO, Bosnia (October 21,2008) - Official statistical data about Bosnia’s trade exchange were announced today at a press conference in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.
In October 2008, Bosnia's exports were worth 583 million Bosnian Marks, while its imports amounted to 1.543 billion Bosnian Marks. The export/import ratio was 37.8 per cent last month.
In the first ten months, exports totalled 5.729 billion Bosnian Marks – by 15.9 per cent more compared to the same period of 2007, while imports grew by 21.7 per cent, to 13.88 billion Bosnian Marks.
The export/import ratio was 41.3 per cent, and trade deficit reached 8.152 billion Bosnian Marks. Croatia was the main trade partner, accounting for 17 per cent of imports and 17.5 per cent of exports.
