SARAJEVO, Bosnia (September 16,2007) – Members of the GROZD non-governmental organisation have launched in all major Bosnian cities a public information campaign on the irregular and illegal spending of public funds, which according to audit reports is present at practically all levels of authority.
The campaign includes the distribution of 50.000 leaflets with information on the irregular spending of money.
Audit reports show that funds are spent without proper documentation to cover for its spending and that money is also used for holidays and buying gifts, which according to GROZD representative Sevko Bajic is disgraceful.
“The allocation of funds is not transparent, purchases are conducted without the announcement of public tenders,” Bajic said.
