SARAJEVO, Bosnia (November 6,2008) - The Bosnian State Parliament's House of Representatives concluded yesterday a discussion on the draft law on the witness protection program in Bosnia.
The goal of this law is to ensure efficient witness protection during and after the conclusion of criminal proceeding and enable a witness a free testimony before Bosnian courts.
The proposed law prescribed that the witness protection program is used during the criminal procedure with possible prison sentence of three years or more, or in cases of more severe criminal acts, crimes against humanity and values protected by the international law and in cases of organized crime as well.
Delegates also discussed the proposal of delegates Niko Lozancic, Beriz Belkic and Milorad Zivkovic regarding the draft law on amendments to the law on service in the Bosnian state institutions in urgent procedure.
