SARAJEVO, Bosnia (September 22,2008) - According to figures published by the Bosnian State Agency of Statistics, prices in Bosnia in August of this year were 9.5% higher on average, while the average annual inflation rate amounted to 6.5%.
The list of products and services that registered the highest increase of retail prices at annual level is slightly different than the monthly one.
The highest price growth was registered in transport prices (16.9%) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (14.4%), while prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other energy sources climbed 12.3%.
Restaurant and hotel services were 8.1% more expensive, recreation and culture 5.1%, communication services 4.2%, education 3.9% while prices of other goods and services climbed 3.5%.
