SARAJEVO, Bosnia (August 7,2008) - The information from the Bosnian Taxation Authority shows that 598 million Bosnian Marks worth of goods were imported by Bosnia from the EU countries since July 1, when the Interim Agreement on Trade and Trade-related Matters came into force.
That was by 20.7 per cent more compared to the same period of 2007. This increase was partly due to decreased and cancelled import tariffs, and partly had to do with higher prices in the global market.
In July, revenues from import tariffs charged on goods coming from the EU dropped by 24 per cent compared to July 2007 (from 30.5 million Bosnian Marks to 23 million Bosnian Marks).
